Update December 2020: While our dynamics have evolved a bit since this originally posted, I can say that I stand by everything in this post except one thing: You do not have to be friends with your kids’ mom. You do, however need to do your very best to respect her. Respect her role. Respect her as a human being. Pray for her. DO NOT talk bad about her to anyone. Your words have power, girls and it’s important that you are intentional about what you’re speaking aloud.
